Am I a candidate for treatment?
Anyone with pelvic floor dysfunction that does not have the contraindications to its use is a qualified candidate. That means men, women, active individuals, athletes, desk jockeys, old, and young. You will be assessed to make sure none of us are wasting time providing unnecessary treatment.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction is a lot more prevalent than people realize. All sports injuries specifically, ballet, dance, skiing, and snowboarding are sports that put us at a high risk of the legs going from under us and should be assessed for pelvic floor dysfunction. They don’t lead to incontinence necessarily but do set the seeds for issues related to pelvic floor dysfunction.
We are proud to announce that our clinic is the ONLY one in OC, LA and SD counties with the most comprehensive treatment for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction to include Emsella chair, Postural Neurology and Functional Movement exercises to not only address the weak pelvic floor muscles but its supportive and influencing muscles, joints, nerves and soft tissue.
Emsella Chair is a non surgical treatment which delivers an electromagnetic field that causes muscle contraction and improves nerve and blood flow function. It is used for the muscles of the pelvic floor and FDA approved for incontinence by delivering 400 Kegel muscle contractions of the pelvic floor muscles per MINUTE.
How does Emsella chair work?
Treatment works by applying a High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology (HIFET) to deeply stimulate pelvic floor muscles and restore neuromuscular control. The focused electromagnetic energy and intense stimulation allow your body to create powerful muscular contractions. These muscle contractions work to repair the pelvic floor to enable patients to regain bladder control. One session can produce the equivalent of 11,200 Kegel exercise contractions. The procedure is administered using a patented chair device that allows patients to remain fully clothed and comfortably seated during treatment.
What are the key benefits of Emsella Chair?
Treatments work on the muscles of the floor of the pelvis treat incontinence by delivering the equivalent of four hundred Kegel exercises per minute. Most conditions that results from pelvic floor dysfunction will therefore benefit from each treatment session. This includes chronic back pain, chronic sacroiliac pain (back of the pelvis), hip pain, pain in the pubic area, and pain in the lower part of mid-back. At our clinic while we don’t claim to treat incontinence, we are all about Pelvic Floor Dysfunction treatment with patients claiming to have recovery from their incontinence issues in the process.
Is treatment right for me?
Treatments are suitable for a wide range of men and women who are seeking a non-surgical solution for pelvic floor weakness or urinary incontinence. After your examination, you will know if you will benefit from Emsella or the full treatment including postural neurology and functional movement exercises to correct the cause of your pelvic floor dysfunction.
What does Emsella chair feel like?
After your initial exam and once you are screened to determine if the treatment is right for you, you are asked to take your belt, jewelry, and all electronics off. You then sit on the chair where we position you based on your biomechanics findings at your time of examination so you can take full advantage of the benefits of your session.
What is pelvic floor treatment with Emsella like?
Each session is 28 minutes long, followed by approximately 25 minutes of our custom-tailored protocol for pelvic floor dysfunction conditioning. That will allow you to work on not just the floor but the floor attachments to the body as well. The principles taught during the 10 sessions of Emsella chair treatments will allow you to follow a daily routine (should you wish) so the effect of the total 112,000.00 Kegels you have received by the end of the 10th session is long-lasting.
